What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday - Friday from 7:30AM until 6:00PM, Saturday from 8:00AM until 2:00PM, and on Sunday from 4:00PM until 6:00PM for boarding drop off and pick up ONLY.
Can I come in for a tour?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it!
What can I bring with my pet to make their boarding stay more enjoyable?
Bringing your pet’s bed or favorite blanket helps, as does bringing one or two toys for their stay. Pets staying in our luxury suites have the option of sleeping on their own beds or one of our PetCots with a provided blanket. Please note that Barking Oaks Pet Resort is not responsible for replacing beds, blankets, or toys that are chewed up during your pet’s stay.
Can I bring my own food for my pet? Is there an additional charge for this?
Yes, you can bring your own food for your pet. There is no charge for this service, however, we ask that you provide us with detailed feeding instructions or provide the food in daily packaged portions for the length of your pet’s stay.
If I don’t bring my own food, what will my pet eat?
We feed Nature’s Variety Chicken and Rice formula. You can read more about Nature’s Variety and their entire line of natural pet food products here.
Do you accept pets that are on medication? Is there an additional charge to administer it?
Yes! We can administer medication to your pet. There is no additional charge for this service. We ask that you let us know at drop off that your pet is on medication so we can meet the needs of your pet.
What vaccinations are required for grooming, boarding, and daycare?
Dogs: Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPPC
Cats: Rabies, Feline Leukemia, and FVRCP
All pets MUST have proof of up-to-date vaccinations before services are administered. Shot records can be faxed to us in advance at 254-742-0747 or hand-carried in. We can also call your veterinarian to have records faxed, but please note that some veterinarians will not release your pet’s records without your consent.
Do you bathe/groom cats?
Yes. Please call us with your cat’s breed, weight, and desired groom, and we’ll be happy to give you a grooming quote.
Do you bathe/groom puppies/kittens?
Yes. For puppies and kittens, depending on their age, there may be additional requirements for their groom. Please give us a call with your puppy/kitten's breed, weight, age, and desired groom, and we'll be happy to give you a grooming quote.
Do I need to bring my shot records with me? I'm just visiting the park for a day!
All pets visiting Barking Oaks Pet Resort must have up-to-date shot records on file with the front desk. By checking the vaccinations of every pet on our premises, we can ensure the safety of your pet and ours and curtail the spread of disease.
